Tell us about your Recruiter Journey

“Finishing studies, I didn’t even know that the role of a Recruitment Consultant existed – until I was referred to a company to register.  I met with my Consultant who introduced me to 6 other people (which was not daunting at all) and at the end of the 3 hours I was offered the job of Receptionist – and this was back in 1995.  I have been working in recruitment for the past 24 years – both in South Africa and for the past 12 years in Australia and have enjoyed the challenges, the successes and the people I have worked with along the way.  

My philosophy has always been to partner with both my candidate and clients – understanding their needs and requirements where there is open and transparent communication, which allows us to find the right outcome for all.” 

What’s been your experience using TalentVine?

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to employers?

“The wrong hire is very costly in so many ways (time, resources, money and potentially brand) so ensure you know what you are looking for – share the information with your Recruitment Partner so they know what they need to find for you and your business. If you share all the details (warts and all) they are able to shortlist candidates that can add value from early on in the relationship.”
