Tell us about your journey as a recruiter
I guess you could call me a veteran of recruitment. I started way back in 1998 recruiting for the same tech industry as I do now for the European marketplace. The fundamentals of recruitment are all still the same as then, the only real change has been in the technology we now have at our fingertips.
What changes do you see happening in the recruitment industry in the next 12 months?
The remote / work from home revolution will continue to change the recruitment industry both from a personal point of view for recruiters themselves and also for the candidates that we hire into ever flexible positions. More jobs will become completely remote and there will be less importance placed on where a candidate is actually located. This has huge implications on how we resource candidates. In addition to this, as the global pandemic (hopefully) eases, the incredibly candidate short market should also ease.
What's one piece of advice you'd give to employers?
Continue to offer remote or flexible work conditions and really focus on building a sound and enjoyable working culture – candidates have a multitude of choices these days so you need to be extremely attractive to them.
