Recruitment was not a career I planned, but it quickly became something I genuinely enjoy. What drew me in and continues to motivate me is the chance to create meaningful connections between businesses and people. There is something truly rewarding about seeing the right person thrive in the right role and knowing you helped make that happen.
What changes do you see happening in the recruitment industry in the next 12 months?
The recruitment industry will continue to evolve as the demand for speed, accuracy, and a more personalised experience increase. Recruiters will need to be more strategic in how talent is identified, assessed, and presented, using data and insight while maintaining a strong human connection throughout the process. One challenge will be balancing candidate expectations for flexible work with employer efforts to bring teams back into the office or adopt hybrid models. Finding a practical solution that works for both sides will be essential to attracting and retaining top talent.
What's one piece of advice you'd give to employers?
Begin with a clear and detailed job briefing. A strong kick-off meeting with your recruiter lays the foundation for a successful recruitment process. It ensures the focus is on the right candidates from the very beginning. When this is supported by a well-structured hiring process, along with clear timelines and defined responsibilities at each stage, it creates a more efficient and transparent experience for your team and for potential new hires.
