When you have a panel of agencies you’re dealing with you can find yourself having the same conversation over and over again, you could be excused for aligning yourself with Bill Murray in “Groundhog Day” (We may be showing our age here with this reference), having the same conversation with a number of agencies. Answering the same questions, giving the same briefing, explaining your culture and the processes you aim to follow. It is mind numbing and tiring. However you keep smiling and putting your best foot forward, you are a company ambassador after all.
For our clients here at TalentVine, we have devised a page, a portal even, where you, as an employer can store and present the core information about your business for all those who will work with you to utilise and understand. Enable your suppliers the ability to learn about your culture and capabilities required for your jobs before you even brief them. A fully branded site that you can use to save you time and reduce your duplicate conversations and effort.
You can use the written word to answer the generic questions you always receive, and let’s face it, the majority of questions are pretty similar. A FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) part will not be too daunting to make. You can involve people in videos, Workcover Queensland for example built a customised 15 minute video for a set role for their suppliers. It saved everyone time and an agency’s coffee budget!
Let’s face it, if we are partnering with Recruitment Agencies we want them to succeed and we want them to present your business in the best possible light, with a narrative you control. To do this you have to give them the resources to work with. A little time up front could and will save you time during the process and allow you to concentrate on your core job.
