Tell us about your journey as a recruiter
I began my recruitment career in 2014, specialising in high-volume temporary placements for Queensland State Government. This fast-paced environment built my foundation in candidate matching, expectation management, and effective communication. I went on to establish and lead a government recruitment team, later stepping into a pure people management role across Corporate and Government recruitment.
Missing hands-on recruiting, I moved into the private sector managing temp and perm placements nationally, before launching and scaling a multi-million-dollar Business Services division.
In 2024, I co-founded Itoh Talent Partners with two like-minded partners. We’re passionate about delivering tailored, relationship-led recruitment solutions that genuinely impact organisational growth and success. We saw a gap in the market in terms of Business Services, HR and Corporate recruitment and with a shared vision, Itoh Talent was born.
What changes do you see happening in the recruitment industry in the next 12 months?
The changes I see happening within the market over the next 12 months would be the incorporation of AI and automation in recruitments processes. This could be anything from automated screening and interviewing to the use of chatbots for candidate engagement to the use of predictive analytics.
What's one piece of advice you'd give to employers?
The one piece of advice I would give to employers is to use Itoh Talent Partners!! Aside from that I would say remember to be competitive, know your EVP and don’t forget the importance of the candidate experience.
